Board Engagement

Board Engagement is a signature program of Emerge Broward that provides insight and experience in nonprofit board service. Open only to Emerge Broward members, the purpose of the Board Engagement program is to provide community-minded young professionals the opportunity to serve on a local nonprofit Board of Directors.

As part of the program, selected participants will receive training regarding the role of a board member, the basics of nonprofit governance, and best practices in board service.

Additionally, participants will be matched with a local nonprofit Board of Directors and serve an annual term as a board member.

Board Engagement participants will be selected through an application process. Any Emerge Broward member is eligible to apply. The most qualified candidates are members who have actively taken part in Emerge Broward activities and exhibit an interest in learning what it’s like to serve on a nonprofit board.
